Description The Plettenberg Bay Golf Club is one of the golf courses ideally located for holidaymakers that flock to the coast to relax, unwind and suntan on the beaches whilst enjoying the luxury hotels in the area. All the activities in and around Plett involve the outdoors. The Plettenberg Bay golf course typifies the holiday spirit that is Plettenberg bay.
The Plettenberg Bay golf course is set in a proclaimed nature reserve - generously wide kikuyu fairways wind themselves through thick vegetation and beautiful trees. The course is also rich in birdlife, including loeries and woodpeckers. One sometimes sees the odd monkey, giving new meaning to keeping your eye on the ball.
Playing the Course
All those holidaymakers who regard the Plettenberg Bay golf course as just another seaside course will be pleasantly surprised. All the greens have been built to USGA standards. The shapes and slopes of this course, together with the bunkers and water hazards present a challenging, yet beautiful course. The course is well-maintained and playable 365 days of the year.
Watch out for the stroke 1, par-four 16th. Accuracy when teeing off is important to avoid your ball ending up in the bushes on the left. The green is well protected by bunkers and a stream that crosses the fairway.
