Colona Castle

General Information

Colona Castle is set on the mountain slopes on the warmer False Bay coastline. This small boutique hotel overlooks a series of lakes, with magnificent views which stretch from Table Mountain across the peninsula and winelands to the ocean.

Originally built in 1929, Colona Castle is a Mediterranean style manor house which has been freshly renovated, and has an impressive array of art and antiques accumulated over many years. This is a peaceful place where you can relax on one of the patios in summer, or cuddle up next to an open-hearth log fire in winter.

The staff are extremely helpful and give great advice and assistance in planning your holiday activities. A choice of world-class golf courses; long, sandy beaches and the 'arty' fishing village of Kalk Bay are all a short drive away. In-house massage and spa treatments are also available on request.

Rooms

Colona Castle has 5 fully appointed luxury suites, one family suite and 2 superior bedrooms.

Each room has a distinct feel and style with artefacts collected from every corner of the globe. The Moroccan Room, African Safari Suite, lavish Mogul Suite and contemporary New Suite are all located downstairs. Upstairs hosts the serene English Suite, the soft-grey Chinese Suite, the Green Room and the opulent Penthouse Suite with its spectacular private balcony.

All the bedrooms are air-conditioned en suite, with extra large showers, heated towel rails, underfloor heating, crisp cotton linen and most of the rooms have balconies with views of the sea, lakes and mountains.

Dining

At Colona Castle great emphasis is places on healthy and well-balanced dishes, using only the freshest organically grown produce. The executive chef's culinary creations received recognition through the 2005 Observer UK Award 100 best places to eat this summer.

A private dinner party for selected guests can easily be organised upon request.
